Alabama residents hoping to get one of the state's appliance rebates are running out of time.
The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs says Alabamians have reserved 87 percent of the $4.2 million that the state was allocated through the federal stimulus program.
Nearly 32,600 rebates have been reserved for buying new appliances with the Energy Star label. ADECA officials say there is about $540,000 left and it may be used up this weekend.
The most popular rebate reservations have been for refrigerators, followed by clothes washers and dishwashers.
Alabama residents can reserve an appliance rebate by calling (877) 856-6645 or by using a website (http://www.alrebates.com).
